Welcome!
My name is Anyi (pronounced “ahn-ee”). I am an Assistant Professor of Management at Wisconsin School of Business, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I study how perceptions of agency shape women’s leadership opportunities, revealing when traits like ambition or dominance constrain women, and when they become sources of advantage. I also examine how employees’ sense of agency and control influences decisions, relationships, and workplace outcomes.
My research has been published in organizational behavior journals, including Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and The Leadership Quarterly, as well as in general science and social psychology journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, American Psychologist, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. It has also been featured in outlets such as Harvard Business Review, The New York Times, The Atlantic, USA Today, and Bloomberg.
I am currently seeking a doctoral student to join my research group in the 2025–2026 cycle. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
